What is normal wear and tear?Updated 10 months ago

It is normal to see light scratching and wear and tear on all jewelry over time. This is the case for all fine jewelry, any time you have metal on metal and any time multiple tags or charms are being worn on one chain. In the event that you do have jewelry that touches other jewelry or more than one tag/charm on the same chain, the tags/charms can "nest" and naturally begin to wear/rub on each other over time. Individual results can vary depending on the person wearing the jewelry, their daily activity level and other factors such as clothing and how many tags/charms are worn on one chain. While many of our customers like and prefer this "lived in" look for their Tiny Tags, we do understand if you prefer your tags to be new looking. If this is the case, you can reach out to our helpful Customer Service Team at [email protected] and we can set up a repair for you.

Tiny Tags does not make any revenue on repairs. We want to be able to provide our customers with repair services at cost. A repair for any of our necklaces including our tag necklaces includes: a professional cleaning, buff and re-polish and a re-plate (if the item(s) is gold vermeil and plating is needed). Price will vary depending on the metal and the number or tags or the item.

If you know that you prefer to have your jewelry in "like new" condition, we recommend that you consider layering your items on different length chains to prevent them from wearing on one another. We have individual chains that can be purchased here: https://tinytags.com/collections/chains-and-chokers

and also offer a layering clasp by "The Necklet" to make layering easy: https://tinytags.com/collections/chains-and-chokers/products/the-necklet-triple-layering-clasp

Please feel free to reach out to [email protected] for more information or to get assistance with a repair.
